Unprecedented Recognition for Match Solicitors in Prestigious Chambers UK Publication

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Match Solicitors have this week been awarded both Band 1 and Band 2 recognition within the 2018 edition of Chambers UK.

Chambers UK is the hugely prestigious annual publication by Chambers and Partners that since 1990 has ranked the world's finest law firms. Covering over 70 specialist areas of law and 185 jurisdictions, this esteemed publication is a leading guide to the best and most accomplished legal practices and practitioners all across the globe.

Chambers and Partners are highly respected throughout the industry for their comprehensive research and their in-depth objective analysis. With a team of more than 150 proficient researchers, they painstakingly identify, examine, research and rank law firms throughout the globe. To feature in their guide at all is an honour but to have three separate entries is a source of great pride for us.

This year we received the following three honours:

  • Band 1 recognition in the UK category of Education: Individuals for Match Solicitors.

According to Chambers UK, Match Solicitors is a "highly regarded boutique practice offering the full spectrum of education law advice". In routinely acting for both SEN pupils and teaching professionals, Match is particularly "renowned for its specialist representation of higher education students". It also notes that clients consider us "excellent, reliable, supportive and responsive" and the firm as a whole is "ahead of the game".

  • Band 2 recognition for notable practitioners, Anita Chopra and Salima Mawji.

Anita, the guide notes, is "a highly-regarded SEN specialist who acts for parents in claims against schools and local authorities. She represents teachers in matters before the NCTL." According to clients, Anita "is very approachable and [gives] excellent and concise advice. She is straight to the point but in a very productive and supportive manner."

Salima Mawji is described as "a specialist in further and higher education claims [with] particular expertise in fitness to practice cases". It notes that clients are impressed by "her depth of legal knowledge, her passion when discussing cases and her willingness to go the extra mile when required".

  • Recognition as a Star Associate for Chris Barnett.

Chris represents parents regularly in SEN Tribunal hearings before Admissions Appeals Panels and Independent Review Panels in both admissions and exclusions appeals. With regard to his SEN work, clients consider his expertise to be "really quite superb".
